Where do you source the Yorkstone that you sell?

We often buy Yorkstone from homeowners looking to modernise their properties. Mostly paving flags, which may be internal flooring, ground floor or cellar floors or external flooring in outbuildings, pathways and gardens. We buy outright or in part exchange for our own brand paving and building materials.

We also buy from property developers, business owners and farmers, who are converting factories, mills and farms into residential properties. Reclaiming this Yorkstone makes it available to customers wanting to purchase Yorkstone to replace damaged or stolen Yorkstone or extend the areas of Yorkstone they have on their property. Yorkstone is a precious part of our heritage; without providing this service the Yorkstone mentioned would otherwise be lost to future generations, ending in landfill.

How much is my Yorkstone worth?

It all depends on the condition of the Yorkstone you have, to give you an approximate value we need to arrange a viewing. While viewing we can see the condition of the Yorkstone paving you have, estimate its meterage and give you an idea of its value. If you are happy to sell we will arrange a time to lift and collect.

Lifting and collection is part of our service, being past masters at lifting flags we are much more likely to lift more flags intact having tons of practice, the right tools and lots of muscle :-)  Damaged flags have to be cut and this decreases their value, less money for you, unnecessary work for us. In any case Yorkstone flags are very heavy and we wouldn't advise you to try to lift them yourself.

Each flag is lifted, measured individually and the meterage is worked out per flag. We can't be fairer than that! We prefer to purchase flags in situ, this is for obvious reasons, we require ID before any sale can be agreed.

I have some Yorkstone to sell, how do we go about things?

Great, the first step is to find out if what you would like to sell is something we are waiting to purchase. If you call our Leeds yard, or approach one of our staff in Leeds or York, they will explain that the best way to obtain an idea of its value is to follow this process:

 

Take pictures representative of the paving flags you have for sale. Measure approximately how many square metres you have, if they are still laid, or count up if they are stacked. If your paving is indeed Yorkstone and in a condition and quantity that we would buy we can arrange a viewing. We also buy Yorkstone walling, coping and gateposts and used Indian paving of good quality if it is local to us.
